The story of Campton Racing is remarkable – from humble beginnings to becoming the preeminent thoroughbred stable on the Gold Coast.
It all started back in 2021, when Adam Campton returned to Australia with a dream: to establish his own training operation and make his mark in thoroughbred racing. Alongside his partner Tayla Whalley, a talented horsewoman with a deep affinity for horses (stemming from her showjumping background), they launched Campton Racing with just two horses and a small setup at Aquis Park on the Gold Coast.

Adam, who had honed his skills in Hong Kong and elsewhere, never lost sight of his ambition to train independently. Tayla’s expertise and passion complemented his vision perfectly, forming a dynamic partnership that quickly set them apart. Operating from quality facilities opposite the Gold Coast Turf Club, they focused on quality over quantity—building strong foundations through careful horse selection, meticulous care, and a boutique approach to training.
Fast forward to today (2026), Campton Racing has transformed into the leading stable on the Gold Coast. What began with those initial two horses has grown into an impressive operation with expanded stabling (including their own dedicated complex), a team of top-class staff, and a string of impressive results across metropolitan, provincial, and country tracks in Queensland and beyond.
