What a way to kick off the new year in Queensland racing!
Saturday’s racing action at Eagle Farm was all about building excitement for the upcoming Magic Millions carnival on the Gold Coast, with a stacked card featuring several lead-up races. But for the team at Campton Racing, the spotlight fell squarely on one star: our talented mare Bengal Diamond.
In the Class 3 Handicap over 1400 metres, Bengal Diamond delivered a spectacular performance, storming home to win comfortably under a great ride from jockey Ben Thompson.
Positioned perfectly just behind the leaders throughout the race, Thompson made his move at the 400m mark, taking her wide in the large field to unleash her powerful finishing burst. She quickly put paid to the Ciaron Maher favourite Silver Wedding, winning by over a length, while the well-supported Hella Fast (trained by Kelly Schweida and ridden by Tommy Berry) finished a further 2 lengths back in third.
This victory marked Bengal Diamond’s fourth career win, pushing her prizemoney earnings past the $100,000 milestone. The 4-year-old daughter of Flying Artie continues to show tremendous promise.
The cheers in the mounting yard were many from her loyal ownership group, who are a fantastic part of the Campton Racing family. It’s owners like these who make moments like this so special, and we’re thrilled to share another success with them.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved with Bengal Diamond – connections, owners, and the hard-working team behind the scenes. With form like this, no doubt many more exciting days lie ahead for our super filly.
Here’s to more winners in 2026!
