Saturday Treble Caps Off Good Day for Campton Racing

It was a stellar Saturday for Adam Campton Racing, with the stable celebrating an outstanding treble across the Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

The day got off to the perfect start when the talented grey gelding Spirit Of Brodie produced another trademark front-running performance. Jumping quickly to take up the lead, he controlled the race from the outset and was never seriously challenged over the 1150 metres. The victory was his eighth career win and pushed his prizemoney earnings beyond the impressive $200,000 mark.

The momentum continued in the very next race, giving both trainer Adam Campton and jockey McKenzie Apel a race-to-race double. Supido’s Choice appeared to have plenty to do approaching the 800-metre mark, but Apel produced a superb ride, weaving through the field despite carrying the big weight of 59kg. In testing wet conditions, the pair combined again to secure another well-deserved victory for the stable.

The treble was completed later in the day at Toowoomba, where promising three-year-old filly Flying Scarlett broke through for her maiden win at just her third career start. The daughter of Trapize Artist settled just behind the speed before jockey Georgina Cartwright guided her into clear running in the middle of the track. Flying Scarlett responded strongly, finishing off her race impressively over 1000 metres to round out a fantastic day for the stable.
