While most of us are making the most of the summer break, Adam Campton and the Campton Racing team have been flat out on the Gold Coast, meticulously inspecting yearlings ahead of the 2026 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which kicks off next week from January 13.
Yesterday’s highlight for Adam was a deep dive into the highly regarded draft from Scone-based powerhouse Arrowfield Stud – an impressive lineup of 55 yearlings that always draws plenty of attention.
Arrowfield, of course, is synonymous with excellence in Australian breeding. It’s the home of legendary sires like champion Snitzel, along with proven Group 1 producers Maurice, Dundeel, and The Autumn Sun. Adding extra intrigue this year is the arrival of exciting newcomer Vandeek – we’re all eager to see his first progeny hit the sales ring in the near future.
During the inspections, Adam had the chance to catch up with Arrowfield’s principal, John Messara AM – a true giant of the industry whose leadership has shaped Australian racing and breeding for decades, including roles as former Chairman of Racing NSW, Racing Australia, and Aushorse Marketing.
One can only imagine the insights shared between the Gold Coast’s leading premiership trainer and one of the most influential figures in thoroughbred breeding!
The team is working tirelessly to narrow down our shortlist, and we’re excited about the quality on offer. If you’re interested in securing a share in our next potential stable star, now is the time to register your Expression of Interest.
